The Hamburglar Costume

Finding a great Halloween costume could be one of the funniest things to do this year. The Big Mac is a famous Mc Donald’s character in a fictional campaign designed to advertise for the McDonald’s fast-food restaurant chain. It was similar to Mayor McCheese except that this cutie pie was the chief of police. The Big Mac sports a constable uniform and a large Big Mac for the head. He was the main authority of Law and order in the McDonald Land. His time was spent always chasing Captain Crook and Hamburglar. All these characters continued to gain popularity being served as toys along with Happy Meals from McDonald’s. The characters that still remain quite popular today include Ronald, Grimace, the Hamburglar, Birdie – the early bird and the Fry Kids.

The Hamburglar character was a thief who dressed in black and white stripped shirt and pants with a red cape and a wide brimmed hat. Hamburger Patch was a part of the fictional city of McDonald where McDonald hamburgers grew like fruits on the plants. This is where the Hamburglar used to scamper around with the main objective of theft of McDonalds hamburgers. Big Mac would always chase the Hamburglar around the Hamburglar Patch.

Earlier the Hamburglar character sported a rather sinister kind of a face. However, after 1980s this took more of a cartoon shape, attracting a large number of kids towards it. The other changes in the character included his age as well as his vocabulary. Earlier where the Hamburglar was an old man, now he was a small menacing young boy. Also where earlier he used to only say “Robble, robble, robble”, now he uses them only as punctuating marks in his speech. He now speaks rather ordinary English otherwise. This character was maintained even after streamlining of characters of the McDonald gang in the 1980s.

The Hamburglar is considered to be a great friend of Ronald McDonald as well as other characters of the McDonald Land. They overlook his rather quirky and funny habit of being a thief and overall there is lot of fun you can have this Halloween with this wonderful and sweet character.
