A lot of people want to lose weight for a variety of reasons- personal, professional and even for sexual reasons. A lot of people undergoing diet have their own set of dream body shapes. Speaking of dream, there is actually a new and not so exhausting way to lose weight which rivals sauna and diet plans and that is the sleep diet. Crazy as what people may say about it, sleep has been proven to help lose weight and that actually depends on the quality of the sleep you are having. This so called “sleep diet” was said to be discovered recently and that sleep affects our appetite due to some hormones that occasional work even with our eyes close. These hormones are leptin and ghrelin that handles the appetite in our body.
Theses two hormones was said to be the cause of overeating and the probability for us to eat more even though that we already had three or four servings of food already. This behavior is natural for our body due to the sleepless nights you been having. Experiencing first hand having no sleep all day will make you feel hungrier hence you’ll eat more than what your body can take. Furthermore, this also increases the stress and irritability of the person, making mood swings and forcing her/him to eat more to relieve it. However, having a good and well balanced sleep helps you tie up the need to feed since it increases the leptin which control your satisfaction in eating while driving ghrelin down to lower your hunger pangs and all. This is the most common problems of those who work late at night and even though that they exercise regularly, they don’t see the result since the ghrelin forces them to eat even if they don’t want to. Anyone can get addicted to food especially if you’re the type of person who’s into sweets and gourmet dishes. The sleep diet can help those who wanted to lose weight easily and at the same time, create a sense of well being too. The proper time to sleep for an individual is 8 or 9:00 p.m., which gives her the capability to have a really good night rest. Even so, this pattern is not always being followed due to jobs that require night shifting like call centers, restaurants and more. This sleep diet will only work for those who have a lot of free time on their hands and have a very peaceful place to sleep in. Even so, sleeping eight hours every night doesn’t solve the problem if you have problems with breathing or more specifically, snoring. This problem rose due to the fact that it will disrupt your sleeping habit and may cause sleep apnea, which is a very bad thing. Making sure that you don’t snore when you sleep will give you an insight on how critical sleep is. So to say, sleeping is helpful to lose weight but only if make sure you don’t have any sleeping disorders.
