Be afraid. Be very afraid. That is if you are among the tens of thousands who used the services of Kristin Davis, a.k.a. the Manhattan Madam, who ran the arguably most successful prostitution services in the USA. Davis has written a book under the saucy title “Manhattan Madam,” which purportedly engages the reader to a tell-all narrative of sex, greed, scandal, and drugs in a thinly veiled women’s escort cum prostitution business that had raked more than $5 million in yearly earnings in its heydays.
Davis came into the public limelight last year when she was booked for prostitution charges in the wake of a crackdown on escort services following the sex scandal involving former New York governor, Eliot Spitzer. The Manhattan Madam has pleaded guilty on the charge in exchange for the four months time that she spent in jail. She was released last January and is now busy on her book promotions.
To help promote her book, she has hired the services of a public relations outfit, Dalyn Miller PR (DMPR). A Massachusetts-based publisher, Hollan Publishing was scheduled to release the book late last year, and has also admitted that it is also a client of DMPR.
The Internet appears to be the major promotion tool for the Manhattan Madam book, which now has its own eponymously titled website (http://www.manhattanmadam.com). An e-book version of the Davis sex opus is sold for $9.99 while the paperback version sells for $12.99.
The America we knew would never be the same again, the book’s website admonishes. For written in the pages of Manhattan Madam, which was based on Kristin’s black book of containing the names of her over 10,000 clients, are the sex escapades of well-known personalities, from celebrities to Wall Street bigwigs, and from lawyers to politicians
Davis, however, has denied that former governor Spitzer was not on the list of her clients in the now shuttered Wicked Models escort services she once ran. She allowed, nonetheless, that Spitzer had been a patron to some of the women under her employ but that the Manhattan Madam never had direct dealings with the former governor. What is in her black book, she says, are some Hollywood stars, lawyers, doctors, businessmen, and politicians whose exploits are detailed in her book. Kristin even recalls the story of a famous writer who booked her entire escort service entourage for a sexclusive romp at the boudoir.
And Davis seems to be leaving no stone unturned in having herself and her book remain in the limelight. Very recently, she sent out a press release detailing a supposedly sexual assault upon her by an unknown assailant who broke into her apartment. The buxom bombshell told the police that the well-dressed, clean-cut assailant tore her shirt open and fondled her breasts.
Kristin has complained that she has been receiving threats since she started promoting her book. Davis claimed having done some 30 interviews over the radio to seek feedback on what she should do with her black book. But now that the cat is out of the bag, she’ll just probably better learn to watch her back.
