Senses Fail music was highly influenced by the likes of Saves The Day, Grade, The Alkaline Trio, The Promise Ring and Jawbreaker. Nonetheless, despite these influences, senses fail music has indeed develop their own tune and has crafted their own success story through the talent and ingenuity of its band members namely James “Buddy Nielsen” who was the band’s vocalist; band guitarists namely Dave Miller Garrett Zablocki; bassist Michael Glita; and drummer, Dan Trapp.
The Senses Fail Music which was basically a post-hardcore type, originated through the formation of the band in 2002. Their first album named “From the Depths of Dreams” debuted in 2003. It contained tracks namely Steven, Free Fall without Parachute, Bloody Romance, Dreaming a Reality, The Ground Folds, One Eight Seven, Handguns and Second Chances and The Ground Folds.

Their album called “Let It Enfold You,” which was inspired by a Charles Bukowski poem, was a hit in 2004. This album contained tracks such as Tie Her Down, Lady in Blue Dress, You’re Cute When You Scream, Buried a Lie, Bite to Break Skin, Rum is for Drinking, Not for Burning, Slow Dance, Choke on This, NJ Falls into the Atlantic, Let It Enfold You, The Irony of Dying on Your Birthday, Angela Baker and My Obsession with Fire and Martini Kiss.
In between replacements among band members – Heath Saraceno replacing Dave Miller and Jason Black replacing Mike Glita, the group was still able to produce albums. In fact, they were even able to come up with a “Let It Enfold You” DVD in 2005. Their album “Still Searching” was then released in 2006. This album was often tagged as an album with rich boldness and crisp. While pop-sounding punk music where described as stale and creamy, Senses Fail music in this album was a hit due to its ample heavy-metal riffling showcase.
The “Still Searching” album was a testament to the no-nonsense Senses Fail Music. It contained tracks namely The Rapture, Bone Crusher, Sick or Sane (Fifty for a Twenty), Can’t Be Saved, Calling All Cars, Shark Attack, Still Searching, To All The Crowded Rooms, Lost and Found, Everyday Is a Struggle, All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues, Negative Space and The Priest and the Matador.
Senses Fail Music has made an unforgettable mark in the music industry that it had always been remembered, even immortalized by a “string quartet” album production in 2006. The tribute album contained tracks namely Tie Her Down, Lady in Blue Dress, You’re Cute When You Scream, Buried a Lie, Bite to Break Skin, Rum is for Drinking, Not for Burning, Slow Dance, Choke on This, NJ Falls into the Atlantic, Let It Enfold You, Irony of Dying on Your Birthday, Angela Baker and My Obsession with Fire and Martini Kiss.
Apart from the commercial breakthrough of Senses Fail Music through the debut of their “From the Depths of Dreams” album in 2003, the success of the group was maintained through their strong Internet presence and popularity. They have indeed gone a long way from their roots down the Bergen County.
