Planet earth Blue Ray Covers all the continents, seasons, climates and habitats, of the world, captured by artful camera work and presents an acclaimed documentary, which is a treasure for all nature lovers. The documentary is full of spectacular feat of camerawork bringing to life dramatic shots in this unique and remarkable nature series, Planet Earth. The crew uses stabilization technology which helps them to shoot from helicopters, with the highest precision possible. They crew of the Planet earth worked for five years to showcase the Earth's most concealed and overwhelming views. The documentary is now available in the market as a complete collection on Blu-ray. Each episode lasts for one hour and has breath taking footages of the farthest and the most exotic corners of the earth.
The technical virtues of Planet Earth are indeed impressive. Featuring the VC-1 codec at 1080p and a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, the contrast, and definition is of good quality. Some of the darker footages lack some clarity, but even then they are not bad. Unfortunately some of the dark areas show subtle strobing effect. For this reason, Planet Earth Blue Ray has not earned a perfect ten video rating; most people however find this minute fault to be nearly imperceptible.
The aerial footages are the most striking aspect of the documentary. Many of the locations shot in the documentary are located on extremely unfavorable terrain. The camera crew has captured all this from the air, and that too with the best possible results. This is quite a feat given the high altitude, high wind velocities and also the huge amount of vibrations created by the helicopter. This has been mainly possible, due to the use of the Cineflex, which is the latest in image stabilization technology. Even with the help of this technology, and a really amazing camera, it takes quite a bit of expertise to come up with these kinds of pictures. Most of the shots are taken with very high degree of zoom, and the slightest amount of movement can cause havoc with the pictures. But the camera crew has seemingly overcome all this and done a fantastic job at filming the documentary. The best example of the prowess of the camera crew is in the documentary called “Mountains” where there are some magnificent shots of the Himalayas and the Andes.
From the deepest caves to the highest mountains, across the oceans and the polar ice caps, into deep jungles and the unfathomed underwater, Planet Earth blue ray takes you to places that you haven’t even imagined of going to, even in your wildest dreams. Thankfully, you do not need to imperil your life to see these panoramic sites; Planet Earth Blu-ray does it for you. The hallmark of Planet Earth is the brilliant camerawork and picture quality. Do not expect it to be the most educational documentary; all it does is open your eyes to the wondrous planet we live on. Attenborough, hosts the series with his signature at-ease style, and does a marvelous job at capturing the essence of a soul who loves this world and the creatures in it, more than anything else.
