Pastel Suits for Spring

Springtime makes us want to enliven our wardrobe with colors and patterns. Unfortunately, this can be difficult to do when you have to dress professionally in the workplace. This year, though, a new trend bridges the gap between the working world and springtime fashion.
Pastel suits are a great option for professional women. They come in an array of spring colors that are both lively and subtle. The hottest looks seem to be pantsuits, though skirt options are available. The key is to find a suit that fits well, particularly the upper half. The blazer should match your form and look like it belongs in the office.
As for the actual color of the suit, the most popular shades are peachy pink, baby blue, and light lavender. Pale yellows and greens are also available, but these hues do not always flatter a person’s skin tone. Plain, monotone suits are the most popular this season, but if you want some variety, you can also try a pinstriped option. Vertical stripes are also quite slimming and make you look taller.
When wearing a colorful suit, it is a good idea to avoid other bright colors. Keeping your shirt a neutral shade, like white or khaki, is a safe bet. However, you can also try picking a shade that compliments your suit. For example, a dark blue top under a pale blue blazer can create a mature yet feminine look. Also, keep your makeup subtle. Bold red lips will clash with a pastel suit, as will overwhelming eye shadow.
