Nora Jones Lyrics

Grammy award winner and multi-platinum awardee Nora Jones is not like any other singer her age. Being a former lounge singer, she has a natural way with her lyrics and music that never fails to leave a lasting impression. Nora Jones lyrics are known to have a moody, sensual feel, which are perfectly combined with her unique, artistic blend of jazz and vocal pop with a masterful touch of contemporary folk and country. Not surprisingly since she considers Willie Nelson as her mentor. Nora Jones’ musical heritage (being a daughter a sitar master Ravi Shankar), her pop sensibilities and varied musical influences made it possible for her to stand out among her contemporaries.
Sampling the magic of Nora Jones lyrics and music, her debut album, Come Away With Me was released in February 2002. It was immediately a critical and commercial success. Come Away with Me blended mellow and acoustic pop with soul and jazz. Coming out of the album was the beautiful Don’t Know Why among other hit songs. The album hit the top of the charts, eventually reaching the number one spot of the U.S. Billboard 200. Since then Nora Jones has earned a large loyal following, with her fan base always trooping to her live performances and searching the ‘Net for Nora Jones lyrics on music lyrics sites.
Showcasing her talent once again, Nora Jones launched a second album that dared not to be similar to her debut. The album, Feels Like Home was released on February 2004 and its success surpassed that of Come Away with Me, debuting at number one overseas and eventually selling 13 million copies. Feels Like Home did not have the softer jazz mood of the album Come Away with Me, but instead it has a country music flavor. Although the musical difference between the two albums are obvious, the usual mellow, sensitive Nora Jones lyrics still made Feels Like Home a run away hit, selling more than a million of copies within a week after its release.
Nora Jones’ third album Not Too Late, released on January 2007 proved that the talented singer’s earlier success was not a fluke. Selling five million copies worldwide, Not Too Late was a certified gold and platinum in over twenty-one countries. Jones almost wrote the entire album herself, citing that some of the songs were darker than her previous ones. Still, Not Too Late was a hit with her loyal fans, making it a chart-topper just like the first two albums ushering wonderful and lovely Nora Jones lyrics and music to greater heights.
Aside from her albums, Nora Jones has extended her talent to films, appearing in a couple of movies mostly as herself giving a performance. But the most celebrated of all her film outing was 2007 Cannes Film Festival entry, My Blueberry Night where she herself played the lead role. Not entirely a respite from her musical career, she wrote a song for that movie which was directed by Asian director Wong Kar-wai.
