Australian pop megastar Kylie Minogue recently announced that she will have her first ever North American tour this fall, appearing in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, and several other venues. The singer released a statement to the press that said, “I've wanted to tour in America and Canada for years and know that fans have been waiting a long time for this. I’m thrilled that the opportunity has finally arrived.”
Tour stops and dates are as follows:
September 30, Oakland, Calif.’s Fox Theater
October 3, Las Vegas’ The Pearl at Palms Hotel and Casino
October 4, Hollywood Bowl
October 7, Chicago Congress Theater
October 9, Toronto’s Air Canada Centre
October 11, Manhattan’s Hammerstein Ballroom
The petite pop star was recently spotted in Gainsborough, England with her boyfriend Andres Velencoso. The two were wanting to go golfing at the nearby Thonock course, and they needed golf gear. Kylie and Andres stopped in at golf club maker Ping and did some shopping before hitting the links.
While tabloid reports said that the couple spent £40,000 on new equipment, Ping’s European marketing manager asserted that the figure was “simply untrue. Do not believe what you read in the national newspapers.”
Kylie reportedly chose graphite-shafted clubs from Ping’s Rhapsody design for women. Those clubs cost about £100 apiece. The visit to Ping was pre-arranged by Kylie’s management, and Ping representatives have kept quiet about the matter at their request.
The visit provided a nice boost for local business, with chief executive Simon Beardsley, chief executive at the Lincolnshire Chamber of commerce commenting, “It just goes to underline what good business we have in the country.”
