Cuisinart are makers of the cuisinart 7 cup food processor, the company markets the product as an entry level food processor. The food processor can be bought in any departmental store for as less as $70. The 7-cup food processor has a base that is similar to the DLC-10 food processor manufactured by the same company, this is a more expensive food processor, but the 7-cup food processor is the same with a few accessories lesser than its costlier cousin.
The Cuisinart 7 cup food processor is a 600 watt food processor and it comes with three blades among which is a 1/8 slicer, a shredder and a chopper. The shredder is capable of chopping an entire block of cheese in less than 3 seconds and is capable of grating apples or pears. The slicer is a really good one with thin and sharp blades; it can slice potatoes for using it in the tortillas and can easily cut any other vegetable such as radish or carrot with ease as matchsticks. The blade is a two arm chopping blade that is efficient enough to mince vegetables and meat. The manual provided with the food processor is excellent and it is very helpful in the initial operation of the processor. Every operation is clearly illustrated and can be performed right out of the box.
Whenever we think about food processors we get the interchangeable disks type of a processor in mind, the 7 cup food processor have fixed stems but does the work as good as the previous conventional kind of food processors, or perhaps better than the previous ones in some cases. No disk holder is included in the 7 cup food processor, but the company still keeps the options open by offering disks that is made for the DLC-10 and are compatible in this model, these disks are sharp but hold up very well for cutting potatoes for French fries etc.
The 7-cup food processor’s feed-tube is kind of narrow with half cut onions barely fitting into it, but, similar to the blades there is a wide mouth attachment that is separately available which lets all vegetables fit perfectly.
As a 600 watts food processor, the base unit is potent enough for many home users who use the processor lightly, the machine is well built which makes it survive the same way for many years. The spatula is well designed and it let’s you clean the crevasses cleanly. The bowl is dishwasher safe and this makes it easy to maintain in the long run.
The Cuisinart 7 cup food processor is well designed and built, it is sturdy and can be used without fear; the blades are also made of good quality steel and shows quality over time. The 7 cup food processor is an excellent buy if it can be bought on sale. Although the price is on the higher side, the quality matches up to it and it certainly is a good buy. Having the interchangeable kind of the stem and the wide mouth as a lit is good on the long run as you can buy these as add on.
